Two men were arrested after a shooting at a cafe in west Harris County

Two men were arrested in connection with a shooting at the Wild Wing Cafe located at 20940 Katy Fwy, TX in west Harris County in the Gardens at Westgreen shopping center.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022. It is unclear what led up to the shooting but there was a heavy police presence at the scene. Harris County Constables with Precinct 5 and Harris County Sheriff Deputies responded as well. According to initial reports, no one was injured.

Three suspects, two white males, and a black male were originally detained. After taking several witnesses’ statements from the dozen or so witnesses that stayed behind, Constables released one of the white males. The black male was moved to another vehicle for transport but remained in custody. Police did not elaborate on why the white male was originally detained or if they knew each other.

Harris County Constables also found several pieces of evidence and were seen searching through the suspect’s backpacks, but it is not known if a gun was recovered at the scene, or exactly how many rounds were fired. Police were seen canvassing the parking lot and the inside of the Wild Wing Cafe.

Police have not released the suspect’s identities or ages at this time.
