Man arrested, charged with murder at Clutch City Cluckers

A man has been now been arrested and charged with the murder of a man outside of Clutch City Cluckers, a popular food truck found in the 9500 block of Main St. in Houston.

According to initial reports, The shooting started when the victim started talking to a woman that was waiting for food outside the Clutch City food truck. The woman was waiting for food with a man, who is the suspect. Something did not go right according to Lt. Izaguirre who briefed us at the scene and the suspect then retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and started shooting.

A witness at the scene stated to police that the male suspect fired his handgun about four or five times. Police did find four shell casings at the scene that matches what the witness described. The victim, a 32-year-old male was taken to Ben Taub Hospital where he later died of his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

That suspect ended up being Ernest Christopher Nathan, a 43-year-old man who was arrested earlier this week by police for the murder of a 32-year-old male outside of Clutch City Cluckers.

According to police, when they went to apprehend Ernest Christopher Nathan, he decided to flee and was subsequently charged with felony evading arrest in a motor vehicle.

The shooting occurred on September 25, 2022, at about 2:20 a.m., and Nathan was charged and arrested on October 4, 2022.
