According to the Houston Police Department, paramedics and police were called to Senator Ted Cruz’s home located in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood just before 8 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found a 14-year-old teenager who reportedly had self-inflicted cuts on their arms and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Representatives for the Senator issued a statement to the media stating “This is a family matter and thankfully their daughter is okay”.
