January 15, 2023 – A suspected intoxicated driver was arrested Sunday evening after crashing through a fence of a neighboring property and slammed into the Calvary Pentecostal Church of God located at 912 Tidwell in north Houston just after 7:30 p.m.
According to Reverend Mark Cox, a woman was taken to the hospital after a pole impaled her shoulder. A teenager and a child were also outside when the accident happened but they escaped without any injuries. There were about 15 people inside the church at the time. The driver was going about 50-60 mph when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the church. He was arrested for suspicion of intoxication according to Rev. Cox.
