Investigation Underway into Man Found Deceased at Plainfield Street Hotel

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death for a 58-year-old man found deceased at a hotel located at 9638 Plainfield Street at 2:25 a.m. on April 21. The identity of the deceased is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Detectives from the HPD Homicide Division reported that officers responded to a call regarding a natural death at the hotel. Upon arrival, they met with Houston Fire Department paramedics and a female witness. The witness said she brought food to the hotel for the man and knocked on his door. Though the man initially responded, he eventually stopped answering. The witness then obtained a keycard from the manager’s office, entered the room, and found the man unresponsive on the floor. She subsequently called 911, and HFD personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, pending the determination of the man’s cause of death through an autopsy. Authorities urge anyone with information about the case to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
