Houston, TX (May 6, 2023) – Houston police are currently investigating the tragic shooting of a 16-year-old male on Saturday, May 6, at approximately 9:25 p.m. The incident occurred at 5900 Selinsky Road, in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to the HPD Homicide Division, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the aforementioned location. Upon arrival, they found the teenage victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim and his family had just arrived at their apartment complex when an unknown suspect(s) opened fire on their vehicle. No other family members were injured during the incident.
At this stage of the investigation, authorities have not yet determined a motive or identified any suspects.
