Houston, TX – May 20, 2023 – Late at night, around 9:50 pm, a shooting happened at the Symphony Inn & Suites motel at 11744 Southwest Freeway. Houston Police officers found two people with gunshot injuries.
The first victim, a male in his forties, had a gunshot wound. His location is unknown as he left the scene in a private vehicle before the police arrived.
The second victim, a woman in her thirties, was shot in the abdomen. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department transported her to a hospital. She is in critical condition.
After the shooting, police are looking for two individuals who were near the scene. One is a tall male with dreadlocks, the other a shorter male with a flat-top hairstyle. They left the scene in an unknown direction before officers arrived.
The investigation revealed that the confrontation began inside a motel room on the second floor before moving outside. Several shots were fired, damaging property. Several parked vehicles were hit, and the wall of the motel room where the shooting began has bullet holes.
The motive for the shooting is still unknown. Evidence found inside the room suggests a potential narcotics connection. Houston Police urge anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward.
