Video: Man arrested and charged in fatal shooting outside of Bombshells in Southeast Houston

Houston, TX – May 20, 2023 – An 18-year-old man, Jaime Salinas, has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection to a fatal shooting. The incident occurred on May 7 at around 12:30 a.m. near the parking lot of the Bombshells located along Gulf Freeway near Fuqua.

The deceased has since been identified as Jaime Torres, who was 26 years old. .

On the night of the incident, HPD patrol officers responded to a call about an unresponsive person found on the service road at the mentioned location. The witness reported finding Torres in a grassy area beside the road, with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced Torres deceased.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Torres, along with two friends, had been at a nearby Bombshells. After exhibiting aggressive behavior, they were asked to leave by the manager. Torres left the restaurant on foot and was later found in the parking lot by the witness. According to Torres’ friends, his vehicle, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, was missing from the parking lot.

At that time, there was no known suspect description.

Further investigation led to the identification of Salinas as the suspect. Salinas was arrested on May 18 and subsequently charged for his role in the fatal shooting.
