HOUSTON, TX – Charges have been filed against two suspects implicated in the shooting of a juvenile at 7402 Calhoun Road around 9:15 p.m. on May 21.

His younger brother Larry Wayne Holmes, 17, has been charged with the misdemeanor of unlawful carrying of a weapon by the Harris County Criminal Court #7. The suspects, whose photos have been released, are currently not in custody.

The victim, a 16-year-old male, was rushed to a local hospital in a stable condition following the incident.

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the specified address and found Davion Holmes suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh. They also responded to a separate call involving a juvenile with a gunshot wound who had been transported to the hospital by a private vehicle. Both cases were linked to the shooting on Calhoun Road.

Preliminary investigation suggests that two witnesses went to an apartment complex at the same address to visit the juvenile victim, who was inside their vehicle along with another friend. The friend left the vehicle and was confronted by three unidentified suspects. When gunfire ensued, the juvenile was hit in the left hip. The witnesses then drove the victim to the hospital, while the suspects fled the scene.

Further investigation and evidence from the scene have implicated Davion and Larry Holmes in the incident, overturning initial beliefs that Davion Holmes was a victim. Both suspects are still at-large.

Authorities request anyone with information about the location of the Holmes brothers or further details about the case to contact the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
