HPD: Woman charged with shooting family member that assaulted her

Charges have been filed against 32-year-old Sharde Renee Reed, who was arrested in connection with the shooting of a 35-year-old man at 2151 South Kirkwood Road at about 6:55 p.m. on Friday, June 23. Reed, shown below is charged with aggravated assault-family member in the 263rd State District Court.

The male victim was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the location, determining that Reed and the victim had been in an altercation leading to the victim being shot. The victim was transported to the hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics.

Reed allegedly informed the officers that she shot the victim because she was tired of being assaulted by him. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and Reed was subsequently charged for her role in the shooting.
