On Sunday, June 18, 2023, a tragic incident occurred on the 14000 block of Alief Clodine Road in Houston, Harris County, Texas, where a woman lost her life while trying to assist another motorist.
Nneamaka Ikenna-Okoli was driving her 2010 Hyundai Elantra in the number one lane when she struck another vehicle, causing it to overturn on the roadway. Ms. Ikenna-Okoli’s vehicle ended up in a grassy area near the roadway. After exiting her vehicle, she ventured onto the road to assist the driver of the overturned car.
Whilst trying to help the other driver, Ms. Ikenna-Okoli was tragically struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Impala driven by Jose Chinos. Ms. Ikenna-Okoli was airlifted to Memorial Hermann – Med Ctr via Life Flight. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries on June 20, 2023.
The incident remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
