Commercial Building Fire Montrose Area Causes $50,000 in Damage

HOUSTON, TX – August 19, 2023 – A fire broke out in a commercial building located at 2607 Grant St. 77006, leading to an estimated $50,000 in damages. The incident occurred on August 19, 2023, at 4:21 a.m., and there were no reported injuries.

Firefighters arrived on the scene within five minutes to find fire emanating from the two-story commercial building. They forced entry and made an offensive attack on the fire while conducting a primary search. The structure, which appeared to be under renovation, was ventilated by the firefighters, who also pulled the ceiling to contain and fully extinguish the fire.

The quick response from the Houston Fire Department saved an estimated $3,950,000 in property. A total of 39 personnel were dispatched to the incident, including firefighters from Stations 16, 6, 8, 7, 30, and Rehab 8.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and HFD Arson investigators have been requested to determine the cause and origin.
