HOUSTON, TX, AUGUST 13, 2023 – A man opened fire at a child’s birthday party at the Rockridge Place apartments in the Greenspoint area, according to the Houston Police Department. The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on Saturday.
Investigators report that two neighbors were engaged in an argument over who would pay for beer when one of the men shot the other. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
The Houston Fire Department transported the victim to a hospital, where he is expected to make a full recovery.
The suspected shooter, described as a Hispanic man in his late 20s or early 30s, fled the scene and is currently at large.
Police have not disclosed whether any children were present during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
