Woman fatally hits pedestrian on highway

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division is currently investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved crash that occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, December 22, at 13400 U.S. Highway 90. The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The incident involved a pedestrian who was struck by a silver Honda CR-V while in the middle of the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The 72-year-old female driver of the Honda stated she was unable to stop in time before striking the male. She did not exhibit signs of intoxication, remained at the scene, and was questioned and released.

The ongoing investigation seeks to determine the full circumstances of the crash.
