Charges have been filed against Shayla Monique Washington who is also known as Shayla Monique Rugimbana 35, in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at 3821 Old Spanish Trail. The incident occurred at approximately 8:05 p.m. on Saturday, January 13.
Washington, who is not currently in custody, faces murder charges in the 184th State District Court.
The victim, a 47-year-old male identified as Joseph Williams was found unresponsive near the gas pumps of a station at the stated address. Officers from the Houston Police Department were alerted to the incident by a passing motorist. The Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Williams deceased at the scene.
The Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division was able to identify Washington as the alleged shooter. She is reported to have fled the scene in a silver Nissan Armada with Texas paper tags numbered 4544E98.
