Pearland Police Arrest Five in Connection with “Jugging” Offenses

PEARLAND, TX – The Pearland Police Department has successfully arrested and indicted five individuals for their involvement in organized criminal activity related to “jugging” offenses, following investigations by the department’s Special Investigations Unit. The arrests address a series of incidents reported in October and November 2023, where primarily elderly individuals were targeted after withdrawing cash from banks within Pearland city limits. These victims were subsequently followed and either robbed or had their vehicles burglarized to steal the withdrawn cash.

The individuals indicted by the Brazoria County District Attorney’s Office include Dennerick Crew (born 4/24/1990), Damien West (born 1/17/2005), Darise Booker (born 7/31/1993), Howard Glaze (born 10/26/1992), and Christopher Eugene (born 10/11/2004), all from Houston. These suspects are believed to be involved in numerous “jugging” offenses across the Houston area.

The Pearland Police Department encourages anyone who suspects they may have been targeted by this group to contact them at crimetips@pearlandtx.gov. The department also extends thanks to the Houston Police Department, the Department of Public Safety, and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation. The case is registered under PPD Case #23-010452.
