HOUSTON (February 17, 2024) Houston police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning at the Dorchester Apartment Homes. A man and a teenage girl were injured during an altercation that broke out as a group of people were having drinks and hanging out.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. on Galveston Road near Park Place Boulevard. According to police, an argument escalated into violence when two women were leaving the apartment with men who had come to pick them up.
The man believed to be approximately 24 years old, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was reported to be in serious but stable condition. The 16-year-old girl was shot in the calf, which might have been from a ricocheting bullet.
Several people have been detained by police for questioning as potential witnesses or suspects.
