Northshore football player killed during shooting at house party in Humble

HUMBLE, TEXAS – March 10, 2024 – Harris County deputies investigated a fatal shooting that occurred during a party in Humble around 11:00 p.m. Saturday night. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the incident took place at a home in the 4900 block of Fieldwick Lane, where a large group of people in their teens and early 20s had gathered for a party advertised on social media, involving underage drinking.

Upon their arrival at the scene, deputies discovered an 18-year-old man who appeared to be passed out. EMS determined the victim had been shot and transported him to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The victim was identified on Sunday afternoon as Jarvon C. Coles, a senior at North Shore High School and a football player.

The preliminary investigation suggested that the shooting was carried out by one or two individuals from about a block away, targeting the house. The shooters fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
