HOUSTON – Houston police are conducting an investigation into the fatal shooting of a 36-year-old transgender woman, which occurred at 9200 Country Creek Drive around 1:10 a.m. on Saturday, March 16. The victim’s identity is currently being verified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to HPD Homicide Division Detectives, HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at the stated address. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Houston Fire Department paramedics.
Witnesses reported that a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu LT approached the victim, who was standing beside the road. A male suspect exited the vehicle from the front passenger side and fired several shots at the victim before fleeing in the vehicle, which was driven by another individual.
The shooter is described as approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin build, and was wearing a gray hooded jacket. Police have recovered the vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting, but the identities of the occupants at the time of the incident remain unknown.
