Houston Firefighters Rescue Dog from Late-Night House Fire in Southwest Houston

HOUSTON – A tragic house fire late Saturday night in southwest Houston resulted in the death of a family dog, according to the Houston Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched to the residence located in the 6200 block of West Bend Street just before midnight.

Upon arrival, fire crews successfully rescued one dog and were able to revive it. Unfortunately, another dog perished in the blaze. All family members present in the home at the time of the fire managed to escape without harm and were evaluated by EMS on the scene.

The Houston Fire Department’s Arson investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
