Three injured in shooting after neighbor complains about music at a birthday party

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating a shooting that occurred at a birthday party at The Tiffany I apartment complex located in the 6100 Block of Winsome Lane around 1:30 a.m. The shooting, which resulted in three people being injured unfolded after a neighbor repeatedly requested the occupants of the apartment unit to lower the volume of their music.

According to police, the dispute escalated after the neighbor came for a third time to ask for the music to be turned down. This time, the neighbor returned armed and demanded the occupants turn the music off. A struggle ensued during which the gun discharged into the air. The occupants then managed to wrestle the gun away from the neighbor.

The neighbor then left and came back with another gun and began firing through the apartment’s back door. One man was shot in the legs, another was shot in the torso. A woman suffered a graze wound.

All three were transported to a local hospital and are expected to survive.

The suspect fled the scene.
