Man suspected of murder while under influence of Xanax and alcohol turned himself in

HOUSTON, TX – Ricardo Domingo Reyna has turned himself in to police after he allegedly shot Jaime Torres-DeLeon, at a party last Friday while under the influence of Xanax and alcohol.

According to police, he was asked to leave the party after becoming belligerent. While he was waiting outside for his ride, Reyna got into a verbal altercation with DeLeon and at one point pulled out a handgun and fired multiple rounds, striking DeLeon several times in the 800 block of Catherwood Place Lane in the Cloverleaf area of Houston.

DeLeon was then transported to a local hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics where he was pronounced deceased.

DeLeon was just 34 years old.

During a preliminary investigation, witnesses at the party identified Reyna as the suspect. Investigators then contacted the Harris County District Attorney and were able to charge him with murder.

Reyna turned himself in on April 2, 2024, at the Harris County Jail.
