2 injured, including teen after suspect opened fire on vehicle

HOUSTON, TX – Police are looking for suspects who opened fire on a car striking a 16 year old passenger and the driver in southeast Houston.

According to police, around 10 p.m. on Friday night, someone opened fire on the two as they were traveling down the street. After being struck, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree after running through the intersection on Broadway and Rockhill.

The motive for the shooting is not known at this time. Bullet holes were spotted on the passenger side of the car.

Both the teen and the driver were transported to a local hospital by paramedics from the Houston Fire Department.

The teen is expected to survive but the driver is not. The driver’s condition remains unknown at this time.

Witnesses who saw the crash tried to perform lifesaving measures on the man but were not able to do so. However, there were no witnesses to the actual shooting and a suspect description is not available at this time.
