A woman was critically injured, and a child suffered minor injuries following a shooting during a family disturbance earlier this morning.

The shooting occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. at an apartment complex located at 5401 Rampart.

According to the Houston Police Department, a male suspect shot a female inside an apartment, striking her in both legs, one arm, and the chest. A three-year-old girl was grazed by shrapnel in the knee but sustained very minor injuries.

Witnesses reported hearing yelling before the shooting. A suspect is currently in custody, and the female victim remains in critical condition.
