HOUSTON, TX – A suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a woman and a juvenile early Saturday morning at 5401 Rampart Street.
Eduardo Gomez, 42, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault of a family member in the 228th State District Court. The victims, a 38-year-old female and a 3-year-old boy, were both transported to area hospitals and are reported to be in stable condition.
According to a press release, Houston police responded to the shooting around 3 a.m., where they found both victims with gunshot wounds. According to investigators, Gomez and the female were arguing in a bedroom when Gomez alleged the woman attempted to strike him with a knife. Gomez then fired several shots, hitting the female. One of the bullets exited the room and struck the juvenile in an adjacent room.
Authorities have charged Gomez following an investigation involving the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
