HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of Ariel “AJ” Ayala on Monday, September 9. The accident occurred around 5:35 p.m. in the 14100 block of Almeda Road.
According to the Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division, witnesses stated that AJ was riding his black Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Almeda Road when he struck the back of a trailer being towed by a gray Ford F-250 pickup truck. The driver of the pickup was attempting to make a left turn from Almeda Road onto Foxshire Lane when the collision occurred.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced AJ deceased. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene, cooperated with police, and showed no signs of intoxication. He was questioned and released. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
According to his family, AJ was known for his passion for motorcycles, often riding alongside his wife, Vaibee. He leaves behind Vaibee and their two sons, Ezekiel and Josiah. AJ was the primary provider for his family, known for his devotion as a husband, father, son, and brother. His loss has left his family devastated.
