DEER PARK, TX – September 19, 2024 – Human remains were found inside a vehicle involved in the pipeline fire incident in Deer Park. According to the Deer Park Police Department, the vehicle was removed from the scene at 7 a.m. on September 19.
The Harris County Medical Examiners processed the vehicle and recovered the remains. An identification process is now underway, which officials say will take some time. This case has since evolved into a criminal investigation, and no further information will be released until the investigation is completed.
Following the removal of the vehicle, Energy Transfer and other stakeholders began recovery efforts. Authorities have requested that media and citizens keep a safe distance to ensure the safety of workers.
