Houston Firefighter injured after balcony collapses

HOUSTON, TX – A firefighter was injured while responding to a two-alarm fire at the Westhollow Place Apartments on Richmond Avenue early Monday.

The fire broke out at the apartment complex located at 13702 Richmond Ave. during which a balcony collapsed under the firefighter while he was performing a search of the property. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Houston Fire Department responded to the blaze, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
