One Year Later: Suspect Still at Large in Angel Muniz-Acosta’s Road Rage Killing

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The family of 21-year-old Angel Muniz Acosta is still seeking justice one year after his death following a road rage shooting.

On Sunday, November 19, 2023, around 4 p.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office patrol units responded to the 13800 block of Muscatine regarding a road rage-related shooting. Deputies arrived to find Angel with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

According to investigators, Angel and his girlfriend were traveling in a white pickup truck when they became involved in a road rage altercation with a light-colored sedan. During the incident, someone in the sedan fired multiple shots at their vehicle, striking Angel. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and has not been located.

According to a family friend, Angel was removed from life support on November 20, 2023. He was the sole breadwinner of his family due to his father’s disability and dreamed of becoming a mechanic and opening his own body shop. He was described as being hilarious, kind understanding, and loyal.
