HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning on the 11800 block of Eastex Freeway.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. when a 37-year-old male driver traveling southbound in the inside lane reported seeing a pedestrian attempting to cross the road from east to west. The driver was unable to avoid the pedestrian, who made contact with the side of the vehicle.
The driver immediately stopped on an overpass that was not pedestrian-accessible, remained at the scene, and cooperated with authorities.
The pedestrian, an approximately 64-year-old Black male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A hospital band on his arm suggested he may have recently been discharged, though details about his origins or destination remain unknown.
