Suspect Life Flighted After Leaping From Hospital Parking Garage During Shootout With Tomball Police

TOMBALL, TX – A suspect was critically injured after leaping from a hospital parking garage while fleeing from Tomball police officers following an aggravated robbery near a high school.

The incident began around 11:30 p.m. when officers responded to a robbery call near the high school. According to police, officers pursued a vehicle matching the description from a disconnected emergency call, to one of HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball’s hospital parking garage.

Once there, the suspect fired several shots at officers before fleeing on foot. Officers returned fire, but no one was struck. In an attempt to escape, the suspect jumped from the parking garage, sustaining significant injuries.

The hospital was temporarily placed on lockdown as a precaution. The suspect, identified as a Hispanic male in his late 20s to early 30s, was transported via Life Flight with internal injuries. His weapon was recovered at the scene.

No charges have been filed at this time, as the case remains under review by the district attorney’s office.
