18-year-old fatally shot at Renwick Square Apartments

HOUSTON, TX – An 18-year-old male was fatally shot overnight at the Renwick Square Apartments.

The shooting occurred around midnight in the 7100 block of Renwick. According to police, the victim had just left his girlfriend’s apartment and was heading home when he encountered three Hispanic males of similar age.

Witnesses reported overhearing a conversation in English, with one suspect saying, “You don’t want it to go down like this” or something similar. The suspect then fired three shots into the ground before turning the pistol on the victim and shooting him multiple times in the chest.

The suspects may have taken items from the victim before fleeing on foot and getting into a gray sedan. Investigators are working to determine whether the incident was a robbery and/or gang-related. Tactical units are in the area searching for the suspects.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
