Suspect in custody on $2 million bond after fatal shooting in Lake Jackson Farms area

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX – A suspect is in custody following a fatal shooting that occurred in the Lake Jackson Farms area on the afternoon of May 31.

According to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call stemming from a domestic dispute and located one individual who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Life Flight transported the victim to a hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Curtis Gunter, initially fled the scene but later surrendered to deputies with the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office.

Gunter has been charged with one count of Murder, one count of Aggravated Kidnapping, and two counts of Aggravated Assault. He is currently being held on a $2,000,000 bond.
