Driver flees after Magnolia police clock truck at 110 mph, arrested on warrant

(MAGNOLIA, TX) September 7, 2025 – According to the Magnolia Police Department, an officer observed a truck traveling 90 mph on FM 1488 just before 6 a.m.

When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver accelerated to 110 mph. Spike strips were deployed near FM 2978, and the vehicle came to a stop at Tamina. The male driver was taken into custody without incident.

Police said he was arrested on an active warrant for family violence and faces a new charge of evading in a motor vehicle. Magnolia police noted assistance from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
