According to the Office of the Attorney General, investigators found that JOLT volunteers operated outside Texas Department of Motor Vehicles locations, where they allegedly instructed individuals in ways that violated the Texas Election Code. The complaint claims the organization and its Volunteer Deputy Registrars coordinated efforts to solicit and process unlawful voter registration applications, potentially including individuals lacking legal identification.

Paxton stated that his office will seek to dissolve JOLT’s corporate charter, revoke its privileges, and recover legal costs for the State of Texas. He added that his office would continue enforcing laws to protect the integrity of Texas elections.
