PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS – Dr. Candice Matthews visited a library serving as a polling location during primary voting, where she spoke with voters about allegations involving Judge Joseph L. Guillory.

During the exchange, she spoke with a man identified as James Albright. Albright made claims that Judge Joseph L. Guillory improperly recused himself, allowed testimony from a manager who was allegedly not working at the time of the incident, and permitted hearsay evidence. He also alleged violations of judicial canons, due process concerns involving a disabled individual, and improper conduct from the bench.

Albright further claimed the judge should not have presided over a matter involving individuals connected to entities that allegedly pay him. He stated that constitutional rights were violated and said he is compiling a list of alleged canon violations.

Dr. Matthews also stated that David Jones called police regarding her presence at the polling location. She said officers responded but did not find any wrongdoing.

It is unclear whether any formal complaint has been filed regarding the allegations mentioned.
