Police pursuit ends in crash involving multiple vehicles in southeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A police pursuit believed to have started in West University ended in a crash in southeast Houston involving multiple vehicles and damage to a utility pole.

The crash occurred at the 6500 block of Del Rio near Old Spanish Trail.

At the scene, a Houston Police Department patrol vehicle and a Bellaire Police Department unit both appeared to have sustained damage during the incident. Harris County Constable Precinct 7 deputies were also on scene. Several civilian vehicles were also damaged, including a parked vehicle with two occupants inside at the time of the crash. One of the involved vehicles ended up on its side, and a utility pole was also struck.

One person was observed in the back of a West University patrol vehicle, but their role in the crash is not known at this time.

It is not clear what led up to the crash. No major injuries are believed to have occurred at this time, but that has not been confirmed.
