HOUSTON, TX – A family of four was found deceased inside a residence in the River Oaks area after Houston police conducted a welfare check.
The call for service was made around 5:26 p.m. at a home in the 2100 block of Kingston Street. Officers were dispatched minutes later and arrived around 5:36 p.m.
According to the Houston Police Department Homicide Division, officers made entry into the residence and discovered four people dead inside. Investigators said the case is being treated as a possible murder-suicide, though the investigation remains in its early stages.
Police said the welfare check was requested after a babysitter and a relative had not heard from the family since the previous evening. Officers were the first to enter the home.
Investigators have not released the identities of those involved or confirmed relationships. Details about a possible suspect, weapons, or how the deaths occurred have not been released.
Authorities believe the incident happened sometime between when the family was last seen the previous night and when officers arrived at the home.
