HCSO: Woman detained after telling deputies she killed woman at Crosby-area home

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A woman was detained after Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a meet-the-citizen call and found a woman deceased inside a Crosby-area home.

The incident occurred around 3:48 p.m. in the 17800 block of Adlong Johnson Road. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a female caller requested deputies at the location and told them she had killed a woman and her boyfriend after they arrived. Deputies entered the home and found a woman believed to be in her 20s deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. No male victim had been located as of the briefing.

Investigators said the homeowners were out of town at the time of the incident. The suspect, described as a woman in her 50s, was living at the home. Investigators later said they did not believe the deceased woman was the suspect’s biological granddaughter, but described her as being “like a granddaughter” to the homeowners.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies had also responded to the home earlier in the day around 1:30 p.m. after the suspect reportedly said she was “seeing demons and things of that nature.” Deputies reportedly did not have enough information at that time to proceed with an emergency detention order.

Homicide detectives were obtaining a search warrant to process the scene for evidence. The suspect remained detained pending further investigation and potential charges.

This is a developing story and more information will follow if it becomes available.
