HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler while reportedly attempting to cross the North Freeway in north Houston.

The crash occurred around 3:22 a.m. in the 4400 block of the North Freeway.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian who was reportedly attempting to cross the freeway and was struck by an 18-wheeler.

Investigators said the 18-wheeler driver remained on scene, cooperated with the investigation, and was believed to have been traveling at normal freeway speeds.

The Houston Police Department is investigating what led up to the crash.
