HOUSTON, TX – A man was found shot multiple times inside a truck at a southwest Houston apartment complex early this morning.

The shooting was reported around 12:40 a.m. in the 10200 block of West Bellfort.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers with the South Gessner Patrol Division responded to the apartment complex and found a man in his mid-40s sitting inside a burgundy truck suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police believe the shooting may have happened 30 to 40 minutes before officers were called to the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in serious condition.

Police said it is not known if the victim lives at the apartment complex, and he has not been able to provide a statement. Investigators do not yet know who shot him or what led up to the shooting. No weapons were recovered at the scene.

Officers are checking the area for possible surveillance footage, but no suspect information has been released at this time.
