Man killed, two others injured in shooting outside west Houston parking lot

HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed and two other people were injured following a shooting in a parking lot along South Highway 6 in west Houston.

The shooting happened around 11:48 p.m. in the 2300 block of South Highway 6.

According to the Houston Police Department, multiple individuals were gathered in a parking lot before heading to a nearby lounge located in another parking area south of the scene.

When westside patrol officers arrived, they found one male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another male, described as being in his late teens or early 20s, was shot multiple times and transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Police said a third victim, an unrelated female driver who was passing through the area on her way home, was injured when a stray bullet went through her windshield. Investigators said she was not struck by the projectile itself but suffered injuries from shattered glass. She was also transported to a local hospital.

Investigators said they do not yet know whether the gunfire came from a passing vehicle or from someone on foot in the parking lot. No suspect information has been released.
