HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police are investigating after a man was found unresponsive near downtown Houston late Saturday night.

Officers with the Houston Police Department South Central Division responded around 11 p.m. to the intersection of Chartres Street and Congress Street regarding a male who was unresponsive and not breathing.
Upon arrival, officers located the man unresponsive. The Houston Fire Department responded and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Due to possible signs of foul play, the Houston Police Department Homicide Division was contacted and responded to the scene. The cause and manner of death remain unknown at this time.
Homicide detectives have identified one person of interest who will be interviewed as part of the investigation. Police said the deceased male appeared to be homeless.
There is no threat to the public at this time.
