Teen Life Flighted after shooting at Humble-area home

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A 16-year-old was Life Flighted to the Texas Medical Center after a shooting at a home in the Humble area.

Deputies responded around 1:20 a.m. to an in-progress call at a residence in the 10700 block of Spring Brook Pass. When deputies arrived, two teenage girls were waiting in the driveway and told them their 16-year-old brother had been accidentally shot by one of their friends.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies entered the residence and went upstairs, where they discovered evidence indicating some type of crime had taken place.

The victim’s mother transported the 16-year-old to Memorial Hermann Hospital off East Sam Houston Parkway. He was later Life Flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

Investigators said there were five individuals in the room when the shooting occurred. The only adult present was the victim’s mother, while the remaining individuals were teenagers.

Deputies have identified the person who possibly shot the 16-year-old, but that information is not being released at this time. The suspected shooter was not at the residence when deputies arrived.

Investigators have not recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting. However, deputies located two spent cartridge casings and blood spatter inside the residence.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
