Man Shot During Argument at West Houston Apartment Complex

HOUSTON — A man was hospitalized after a shooting at an apartment complex in west Houston early this morning.

The shooting was reported around 12:40 a.m. at The Landing at Westchase Apartments, located at 9797 Meadowglen.

According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from an argument between two men who appeared to be acquaintances but did not know each other well. During the dispute, the shooter retreated toward the patio of his apartment.

Authorities said the victim then aggressively approached the shooter again and shoved him as the shooter stood at his door. The shooter then pulled out a firearm and shot the victim once in the left abdomen.

The victim was transported by the Houston Fire Department to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators believe the victim may have been visiting someone at the apartment complex. The reason for the argument remains unknown.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office is not accepting charges at this time pending further investigation.
