Man struck and killed by train in northwest Houston

HOUSTON — A man was struck and killed by a train in northwest Houston at approximately 2:20 a.m. near the 5600 block of West Tidwell Road near Antoine Drive.

According to the Houston Police Department, the man was lying on the railroad tracks when the train conductor spotted him and sounded the train’s horn. Police said the man did not move from the tracks.

The conductor attempted to stop the train but was unable to stop in time, and the train struck the man.

The man’s identity has not been released.

Officials said railroad police with BNSF are investigating the incident
