HUMBLE, TX — A Harris County Precinct 4 deputy was shot and injured after a gunfight with an armed suspect at the Pavilion at the Groves apartment complex, located at 15951 Woodland Hills, late Friday night, according to authorities.

Shortly after 10 p.m., the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office responded to multiple calls reporting a Hispanic male walking through the apartment complex with a shotgun and discharging the weapon. Dispatchers received numerous reports from residents regarding the armed individual.
Multiple deputies arrived, assessed the situation and located the suspect. Authorities said a gunfight then ensued between deputies and the suspect.
One deputy sustained a gunshot wound and was transported by personnel on scene to Houston Northeast before being transferred to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Officials said the deputy’s injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, though a lengthy recovery is expected.
