HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A fatal crash involving a passenger vehicle and a box truck shut down the eastbound feeder lanes of North Sam Houston Parkway West near Sharmon Road earlier this afternoon.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Precinct 4 deputies responded to the crash near Veterans Memorial Drive.

Investigators said the driver of the sedan was possibly traveling at a high rate of speed before changing lanes. The sedan then became partially lodged underneath the box truck.

Fire Department personnel worked to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

As of the latest update, all eastbound feeder lanes remained closed while deputies investigated the crash and crews worked at the scene. Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances leading up to the collision.
