HOUSTON – An adult male was critically injured after a shooting inside Cullen Food Mart in southeast Houston.

Around 11:30 p.m., Houston police responded to Cullen Food Mart in the 8900 block of Cullen Boulevard after reports of a shooting.

Officers arrived and found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is believed to be in critical condition.

Investigators said what led to the shooting remains unknown. Detectives are gathering information, reviewing surveillance footage, and working to determine exactly what happened.

The suspect or suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.
