HOUSTON – A man was fatally shot earlier this morning outside the Heights Drive Inn Bar in north Houston after an altercation in the parking lot, according to the Houston Police Department.

Officers responded to a shooting call at about 2:30 a.m. at the Heights Drive Inn Bar, located in the 6700 block of North Main Street. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Houston Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

According to preliminary information, the victim was in the parking lot when the suspect arrived. Investigators say the suspect and the victim became involved in an altercation before the suspect allegedly opened fire.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

The investigation remains ongoing.
